Plan of Work: Acquiring basic Life skills in Family and Consumer Sciences

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Positive Employability is a 7 part series designed to assist individuals to better understand the soft skills necessary to be successful employees. Upon exploring the definition of soft skills, out of 27 participants, 24 increased their ability to define them at a good or excellent level. 22 gained the ability to identify the element of professionalism, 23 gained their confidence in effectively engage in teamwork in a business setting and 24 gained the ability and confidence to manage time to enhance productivity. 19 plan to use empathy , professionalize and communication to build work place relationships and 21 plan to utilize soft skills to contribute to a more efficient and productive workplace. 20 agreed the speaker was effective 21 indicated it was practical for them and 17 stated it was very educational . 

Under "Communication Skills: Conveying Your Message" 24 participants agreed the program was practical, effective and educational. All 24 plan to utilize the elements of enhanced verbal (pitch , tone and speed) and nonverbal (gestures and silent messages) in their communication. They plan to utilize their soft skills to contribute to a more efficient and productive workplace. 

Under Communication Skills: "Listening and Inquiry" out of 30 participants, 29 indicated they plan to implement SMART goals for better listening, 25 plan to practice using different forms of questions (open, closed and probing) to enhance conversations.
