Outcome: Initial Outcome

Simpson County 4-H brought the State 4-H Blender Bike to Franklin for the second year in a row in the Fall 2019, at the request of the Simpson County School District.  The bike was used at the FSMS Youth Health Fair where 250 6th graders experienced the bike and sampled a fruit smoothie they made while pedaling.  Over 1000 students & parents attended the school district's Night of Innovation where 300 participants experienced the Blender Bike and sampled salsa they made while pedaling.  At both of these programs participants received the blender bike recipe along with a SNAP incentive item. The school district's Night of Innovation coordinator said, "I’m so thankful for you bringing this to our Night of Innovation and working the station! I hope that you all can come back with a station for next school year. We loved having the blender bike to make salsa"

New this year was a Spin Art Attachment that allowed both youth & adults to paint while the bike was being pedaled. This was used at four 4-H Club meetings in November & December and by two other youth groups that asked the 4-H agent to present a program using the blender bike spin art. Collectively over 135 youth both pedaled the bike and created a painting.  The Boys & Girls Club and Head Start programs also had the blender bike program on physical activity & nutrition where 125 youth made fruit smoothies why pedaling.
