The Kentucky Volunteer Forum is the premier volunteer development opportunity for Kentucky 4-H. It equips county volunteers with the skills and resources necessary to deliver 4-H programming to all youth.  In 2020 Simpson County had eleven volunteers & two teens register for the forum, the 4-HYD Agent presented three educational workshops, and the ANR agent served as a room host.  Two of the volunteers assisted with the John Swack 4-H booth and three assisted the 4-HYD agent with the 4-H Interstate Exchange Trips workshop.  In addition, two Family Resource Youth Service Center coordinators presented a workshop with the 4-H Agent on "Two Peas in a Pod - How Extension & FRYSC Make the Perfect Programming Partnership." Since FRYSC coordinators could attend the forum and receive continuing education credit we presented the programs we conduct together in Simpson County. 

Simpson County 4-H had four adult award recipients, one teen award recipient, and five ten year 4-H members recognized at the forum.  The Simpson County 4-H Council received the Partners in Progress Award for the fundraising opportunities they afford Simpson County 4-H members, that resulted in some $20,000 raised last year.  The Simpson County 4-H Exchange Club, currently in its 8th interstate exchange over the last seventeen years, received the Innovative, Enthusiastic, & Creative (ICE) Award for allowing Simpson County 4-H teens the opportunity to both host 4-H members & travel the United States on behalf of 4-H. Nineteen year 4-H volunteer Charlene Moore received the Conrad Feltner Adult award for the many years she's given as a Simpson County 4-H leader, and ten year 4-H leader Robin Hollingsworth received the 4-H Camp Adult Achievement award for her longtime dedication to Simpson County's 4-H camping program.  4-H Teen Katie Hollingsworth received the Community Service Award for her implementation of a family walking story at the community park in Franklin, where families walk & read together along a path of 18 podiums Katie installed that house the pages of a children's book. Simpson County's overall participation in the Forum was better than ever before.
