Carlisle County 4-H'ers showed off at this year's county and state fairs. The fair gives 4-H'ers the opportunity to showcase all the hard work they have completed in 4-H all year long in the seven curriculum areas of 4-H programming: Health, Family & Consumer Sciences, Leadership, Communication & Expressive Arts, Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Science, Engineering, & Technology. It also gives the public a chance to see what 4-H is all about as they attend other events.
This year, Carlisle County 4-H'ers turned in a record-breaking 218 exhibits to the county fair and 42 exhibits to the state fair, showing off a year's worth of hard work in 4-H projects. Four six-hour summer project days and multiple project groups were held throughout the year Exhibits included crops, horticulture, foods, sewing, arts & crafts, home environment, and more.
In addition, the Carlisle County Dog Club hosted their first ever Carlisle County Dog Show in partnership with the Homeward Hounds Rescue Group. Ten participants showed off their dog projects and learned about dog showmanship and responsibility.
