Major Program: Kentucky Extension Leadership Development (KELD): Developing Core Leadership Skills

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

One of the goals of Ag Programs is to recruit and develop potential County Agents for Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) and Horticulture.  The interim Assistant Director for ANR evaluated an Extension intern after his second stint in the same county.  As part of the latest internship, the candidate covered an ANR vacancy in an adjacent county.  Upon completion of the second internship, he was given a position that allowed him to cover ANR vacancies in three District 4 counties.  He subsequently was hired for the ANR position in Owen County.  He had an early success spearheading a large hay and supply donation to flood-stricken ranchers in Nebraska.
