We all are guilty of watching the infomercials and thinking to ourselves they make it look so easy to operate that new appliance that I just need it in my kitchen…the price is very reasonable, I can work with that….I just need it for my kitchen, I know I will cook all the time with that thing….I just got to have it. And there it comes in the mail all shiny and new, and yet it sits on the counter collecting dust. But that is far from the case in Marion County. This year we offered a Small Appliance workshop that covered the Air Fryer, Jam & Jelly Maker, Bread Machine and Instapot. Each appliance was used in a recipe from start to finish and the participants were able to sample from each segment. They also went home with many tips and recipes. Over 9 individuals participated and we have had several requests to host another class and to even expand on the list of appliances offered. Several have stopped me out and about in town and have commented on how easy they can put together a meal several nights a week and how much they have saved by not eating out as much. This is why we do what we do, we are here to better serve our community one class at a time.
