Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

Skills relating to home/work/families are so important. Over the years the interest and importance of family and consumer science careers has waned. This has led to the shortage of trained family and consumer sciences educators for school districts and  the Cooperative Extension Service. The extension internship program is a beneficial method for recruiting potential family and consumer sciences agents.  The Fleming County extension service has always been willing to host interns. Over the past 28 years the Fleming County office has worked with several interns. Currently two interns are now employed as FCS agent due to their experience as a summer intern. Both credit their desire to become an Extension Agent because of the internship program.
