Arts and Nutrition Curriculum
Author: Sky Marietta
Planning Unit: Community & Economic Development (CEDIK)
Major Program: Arts and Community Health
Outcome: Initial Outcome
A second program that I created this year was a free arts curriculum that is easy to implement, uses common and/or low-cost materials, and can be customized to meet the needs of any program. Taking a whole-child approach, this program creates social, educational, and health opportunities in an inclusive format that is organized through arts exploration. The program is designed for ease of delivery in underserved communities and populations, empowering a variety of community actors—from church volunteers to extension agents to librarians—with the materials and tools needed to implement hands-on, arts-based activities for children ages 3 to 12.
