The Warren County Extension Leadership determined a need for a new Extension Office and have been saving funds and planning for the last decade. In Spring of 2018, the extension board voted to proceed with the construction of a new facility with more meeting room space. The Agriculture Agent served as Project Manager for the construction of the new facility. The 16,728 square foot space has the ability to hold 5-6 different meetings including one room that has a capacity of 300. Construction was completed 2 months early and under the $3.2 million budget.
During construction, a capital campaign was developed to reduce the debt liability. To date, approximately $380,000 has been raised to support the extension facility. Since opening in late February, the new office has expanded educational opportunities for the Warren County community. We have also entertained extension district boards from other counties and have shared our architectural plans, fundraising ideas, and building experiences to help facilitate their building projects.
