Trigg County Extension Homemakers have always been one of the strongest leadership organizations in Trigg County. This year there were 121 members of the Trigg County Extension Homemakers Association in 8 clubs. Our Homemakers reported 1589 Extension, youth, and community volunteer hours, at a value of $34,036.38 to the community. There are many who will not report their hours because they refuse the recognition.

Two of our county members serve as Pennyrile Area Homemaker educational chairmen and one serves as Pennyrile Area Homemaker secretary. The Trigg County Homemakers hosted the 2018 annual Pennyrile Area Homemaker Meeting on October 30, 2018. Over 50 Trigg County Homemakers helped in this effort and attended the meeting. Two county members attended the state KEHA meeting in Louisville in May, 2019. Many members serve as officers and leaders in other civic groups in Trigg County and are especially active in the Hospital Auxiliary and Beta Nu, Lions Club, and Woodmen of the World.

The Trigg County Homemakers sponsored their annual Candy Cane Land "shopping" trip for 90 preschoolers in the Trigg County School System. Most of these children are low income, at risk children. The children ride the bus to the Trigg County Extension Office and are given the opportunity to "shop" for Christmas gifts for their families. The gifts are wrapped and tagged and sent home with the children.  This year the Homemakers also covered the cost of the school bus driver to insure that this event happened.  

The Trigg County Homemakers sponsored a Nutrition Fair at the Senior Center for the third consecutive year.  Participation in the activity continues to grow.

Trigg County Red Cross sponsors 5 days each year that a blood donation center is set up at the St. Stephen's Catholic Church. The Trigg County Homemakers provide sandwiches, soup, and cookies to serve to those who have donated blood and provide workers for the canteen. Anywhere from 40-60 donors are served on each clinic day.

The Trigg County Homemakers awarded two $500 scholarships to two eligible Trigg County High School seniors.  Each award recipient was the grandchild of an active Trigg County Homemaker member.
