The University of Kentucky Research and Education Center at Princeton serves as a valuable resource for agricultural activities in western Kentucky. Both commercial scale producers and homeowners can benefit from the services that are offered through the Research and Education Center. An example of the individual impact made by Cooperative Extension personnel was demonstrated through the identification and treatment recommendations for a pest infestation presented by a homeowner. The homeowner sought recommendation from the Graves County Cooperative Extension Service after no success with traditional means of infestation removal. Through the diagnosis and control methods provided by the University of Kentucky Entomology Department, the homeowner was able to take steps to improve individual quality of life. Additionally, as a first time Cooperative Extension client, this successful interaction allowed for the dissemination of information on Cooperative Extension programs to nontraditional members of the Graves County community.
