The Kentucky State Fair 2018

Leslie County 4-H Programming continually supports all 7 areas of 4-H.  Day Camp projects continuing throughout early August brings the upcoming excitement of The Kentucky State Fair.

With approximately 6000 project entries, the 2018 Kentucky State Fair was a huge success. This effort would not have been possible without youth participants, Extension staff and volunteers. This year Cloverville and 4-H shined better and brighter than ever!  What a marvelous honor it was to be included with all our agriculture friends in Ag Land. In addition to the move to South Wing “A”, Cloverville also received a face lift which included updated graphic panels, lamp post and street signs, and the new “Pathways to Growing True Leaders” flooring.

Leslie County 4-Hers of all ages had a total of 45 entries displayed in Cloverville at The Kentucky State Fair, August 2018.  The areas of Photography, Sewing, Arts and Crafts, Home Environment, Needlework and Foods in many class categories were submitted. Our Youth enjoyed their recognition of receiving ribbons and class- champion awards!  These 4-H entries represent many projects and programs that help in shaping the lives of many 4-Hers!

FCS Day at the Kentucky State Fair

Twenty 4-H members came to Cloverville on FCS Day to work on their 4-H projects, demonstrating to fair goers exactly what is involved in “completing ” a project. How exciting that 1 of those 20 4-H Members was a young lady with District 2, Leslie County 4-H!  Leadership in the making while showcasing her skills with her class-champion needlework project!

We pledge our HEADS to clearer thinking, our HEARTS to greater loyalty, our HANDS to larger service and our HEALTH to better living all while we seek after and enjoy our service and projects that make us who we are. For our Club, our Community, our Country and our World!

CONGRATULATIONS LESLIE COUNTY YOUTH ON YOUR SHOWCASE OF PROJECTS!
