This year I worked with our Livestock club for the first time as the point agent. We started the year by assembling the parents and CLV's in a meeting to determine the future direction of the club as a whole. We as a group decided that the main focus for the year would be stability, fundraising, and recruitment. For the first time in recent memory we elected an officer team to direct the club activities, and lead the group, this greatly increased the involvement of our older youth. Some of the key achievements for the year are:
Leadership- The CLV's took excellent leadership when the were presented with the opportunity.
County Fair- we made many changes to the county fair show schedule, and it flowed very smoothly. We completely revamped the poultry show, and saw numbers jump from 5 chickens in 2017 to over 40 this year. (Picture Below)
Livestock Club Leadership- The 4-Her elected their own officers to repersent teh club this project year, this was an excellent grwoing and learning experence for everyone, it created much more stability for the gruop than I expected. (Picture Below)
Fundraising- The club chose to do fundraising on a yearly schedule and offer donors advertisement at each of their events all summer, this resulted in increased fundraising, approximately 4 times the amount raised in prevouis years.
Western Rivers- We received many complements from this Livestock Expo this year, my favorite was: "This has to have been the calmest, smoothest run expo I have ever attended"- mom of 4-Her from central KY.
Livestock Clinic- We had a three-fold increase in the attendance at our regional livestock clinic, we had youth there from 6 states. (Picture Below)
We look forward to having new programs and increasing club membership in 2018-2019.
