Calloway County 4-H has a wonderful group of camp volunteers and youth that return to camp each summer.  Some youth only participate in 4-H Camping.  Others are beginning to get involved in the year round 4-H adventures in Calloway County 4-H.  Calloway County three year average is 119.  In the last three years Calloway County 4-H has taken 358 people to camp.  The 4-H Residential Camping program is an important aspect of the total Calloway County 4-H experience.  Youth gain belonging, independence, mastery of skills and have opportunity to give back to others through the Calloway County 4-H Camping Experience.  Calloway County 4-H has amazing partners that support and supplement the funds for 4-H Camp and 4-H Camp Scholarships.  In 2018, approximately $3250 in support was supplied by the Family Resources and Youth Services Center from Murray and Calloway County Schools.  Calloway County youth and leaders have educational events that are necessary to have at camp including: watermelon, banana boats, polar bear swim and water bottles for all youth.  When it is as hot as it was this year, Calloway County 4-H considered it a very successful camp because

1.  No one went to the hospital or urgent care.

 2. Home sickness was manageable enough to keep all campers for the 4 days and 3 nights..

 3. Behavior of Campers and Counselors was respectful and kind.

4. Calloway County Volunteers taught outstanding classes that youth gained skills that they will take home and use- Robotics,  Poperazi, Outdoor Cooking, Disc Golf, Shotgun - Trap and  Space Crafts.

5. Campers are already ready to attend again next year.
