Arts in the Community
The ability to express yourself thru art has been a focus of the Butler County FCS Agent, the Library, and the Arts Guild. The Butler County FCS Agent started offering two classes on the third Thursday of each month, one at 10 a.m. and the other at 5 p.m. Classes were offered where individuals could come and learn to paint with acrylics, work with paper to create décor, beads, and fabric. The Library and the Arts Guild started joining in with the teaching opportunities.
The classes seem to get larger each time they are taught. The Art projects have been displayed in local businesses, with several of the items being displayed in the Festival. There are several participants who have never participated in any art class that continue to participate.
