Participants also learned a basic understanding of the economy, versatility and nutritional value of chicken and its relationship to human nutrition. 4Hers also got to prepare their own barbecue sauce to cook on their chickens. At the beginning of the program, 18 of the 21 students indicated that they had never actually used a barbecue grill to prepare chickens. At the end of the day, all 21 participants said they felt confident that they now know how to properly prepare a chicken for barbecue grilling and how to properly cook it and make sure it at the correct internal temperature in a safe way.
