The University of Kentucky 4-H Leadership Programs have made a significant impact across the state, helping young people develop essential leadership skills and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Over the past year, the program has demonstrated strong engagement and measurable success.

Program Highlights

  • 41,998 hours of service were contributed by youth and volunteers.
  • 202,639 contacts were made with local stakeholders, strengthening community relationships.
  • 379 hours were dedicated to multistate efforts, expanding the program’s reach.
  • 15,941 volunteers were actively involved in supporting youth development.

Youth Leadership in Action

  • 1,586 youth served in leadership roles, gaining valuable experience in responsibility and decision-making.
  • 10,323 youth worked in teams to accomplish shared goals, learning cooperation and teamwork.
  • 22,440 youth reported a better understanding of how their actions affect others.

 Volunteer Contributions

  • 1,790 volunteers supported youth in leadership roles.
  • 13,812 volunteers helped youth work effectively in teams.
  • 1,951 youth (ages 5–18) and 19,741 adult volunteers (ages 19+) participated in Leadership & Civic Engagement (L&CE) programming.

Developing Future Leaders

These results reflect the University of Kentucky 4-H Leadership Programs’ commitment to preparing youth for future success. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and service, participants are gaining the skills and confidence needed to lead in their schools, communities, and beyond.
