Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
I was privileged enough to speak at the ASNNA (Association of SNAP Nutrition Education Administrators) conference in February 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. I represented a team of people who worked hard to create and then revise the Farmers' Market Toolkit. My presentation was called "Sowing Seeds of Connection: Empowering Collaboration and Community Competence at Kentucky Farmers’ Markets" and it has three objectives for the audience:
- Objective #1 _ Describe how the Toolkit content addresses the needs of Kentuckians with limited resources by providing farmers’ market vendors and managers with practical actions to increase SNAP participation.
- Objective #2 _ Describe how the Kentucky Nutrition Education Program (KYNEP) has developed multiple partnerships across the state with agricultural stakeholders to inform the Farmers’ Market Toolkit.
- Objective #3 _ Describe how KYNEP has used partnerships to share the Toolkit with farmers’ markets and farmers across the state.
I was able to highlight the formative research, the partnerships and its impact across the state of Kentucky.
In response to this presentation, 23 multi-state connections were made via a qualtrics survey of others Snap-Ed programs requesting access to use the toolkit.
