Describe the Issue or Situation. A need for a simple publication and description of how to determine soil texture in the field was needed.
Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable). The original method was developed by NRCS soil scientists but was not user friendly.
Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience. Since November of 2016 the publication has been downloaded 49,604 times by people from 187 countries representing 2,482 entities.

Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach. This data was provided by UKnowledge and shows the need that this publication filled across the US and world.
