Author: Edwin Ritchey
Planning Unit: Wildcat County CES (demo only)
Major Program: Water and Soil Quality and Conservation
Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
Describe the Issue or Situation. No major revisions of AGR 1 have been completed for a while, just minor updates. I assisted Grove and Poffenbarger process a large amount of data McGrath compiled but had not processed prior to leaving UK for an industry position. This data and an analysis of current P and K recommendations changed the recommendations for corn, wheat and soybean.
Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable). This will influence potential government programs for producers. The corn commodity board, numerous producers and researchers, and others helped to generate this data.
Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience. This data has the potential in influence multiple corn, soybean and wheat producers in Kentucky.
Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach. Many governmental programs require producers to follow land grant guidelines. The update has increased some recommendations for corn, soybean and tobacco and might get greater participation if these programs continue in the future.
