The 2024 Heart of America Grazing Conference, Regenerative Grazing...Merging Art and Science that was held on October 15-17 in Elizabethtown, KY. This conference was a three-day event that attracted participants from Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, and beyond. Day one consisted of an on-farm Pasture Ecology Workshop held near Ceclia, KY. More than 100 participants learned about soil health, bale grazing, dung beetles, watering and fencing systems, winter annual forages, and native warm-season grasses, and silvopasture establishment and management.  On day two, more than 200 participants attended the main conference held in Elizabethtown, KY. Conference participants learned about regenerative grazing from nationally known speakers including Ray Archuleta, Greg Brann, Matt Poore, Chris Teutsch, Greg Halich, and Alan Franzluebbers. On the third day of this event, more than 120 participants attended a regenerative pasture walk in Adolphis, KY. This pasture walk provided an ideal environment for the discussion of regenerative practices that have allowed the host farm to virtually eliminate the need for outside inputs while optimizing farm income.
