Kentucky Agriculre Training School (KATS)

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Describe the Issue or Situation.KATS is a hands on training offered to all in agriculture, primarily those focused on row crop production and production agriculture. It offers CEUs for CCAs and PATs for certified pesticide applicators. We typically hold 6-9 trainings annually.


Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable). KATS is typically held as UKREC but has been held elsewhere, depending on the training. Partners include faculty from multiple departments within MG CAFE, faculty members from other Land Grant Universities, government orginizations (.e.g. NRCS), and private companies (John Deere, Martin Ag)


Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience. Since inception we have reached participants that represent 3,649,805 acres that havee a reported a value of $40,533,165 with 24,714 facebook views, 49,445 Twitter views, 19,545 website views and 51,971 video views of posted videos. 


Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach. This program is still relatively new, but many people are repeat addendees and word of mouth is responsible for many of the new attendees. The above statistics show the overall short term value of the program.
