Move Your Way

Author: Tara Duty

Planning Unit: Mercer County CES

Major Program: Active Living and Health Promotions General

Plan of Work: Accessing Nutritious Foods

Outcome: Initial Outcome

The Fort Harrod Area Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agents successfully implemented the Move Your Way with Bingocize program, a unique blend of physical activity education, Bingocize® exercises, and the classic game of bingo. This program aimed to promote the importance of daily movement and nutrition in a fun and engaging environment.

Participants were introduced to the three main types of physical activity—endurance, strength, and flexibility—while also learning practical ways to incorporate movement into their everyday lives. The Bingocize® format kept energy high and participation steady, providing a supportive setting for learning and motivation.

At the conclusion of the program, participants were surveyed to evaluate the impact. The results speak volumes:

  • 70% of participants agreed they learned the three types of physical activity.

  • 80% reported they can describe the benefits of physical activity to overall health.

  • 70% said they are able to identify ways to be physically active in their daily lives.

  • 100% of participants said they plan to increase their physical activity as a result of learning Bingocize® exercises.

  • 100% also reported they plan to use tools from the program to incorporate movement into their daily routines.

Move Your Way with Bingocize not only made learning about health and fitness enjoyable—it also empowered participants to take charge of their well-being. By combining education with fun, the Fort Harrod Area FCS Agents helped plant the seeds for lifelong healthy habits.
