Planning Unit: Marshall County CES

Major Program: Local Food Systems

Plan of Work: Agriculture Advancement

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Following years of operating out of a parking lot, the Marshall County Farmers Market officially opened its new pavilion in 2025—and the response from the community has been encouraging.

The season kicked off with record-breaking energy and engagement. One standout moment came during the “Friday Night Fun at the Farmers Market” event, which welcomed over 300 attendees. The evening featured two food trucks, 10 local vendors, and six free family-friendly activities, transforming the market into a vibrant hub of community connection. The event was more than just a good time—it was a sign of real momentum. Of the 126 attendees who completed a survey, 100% said they would attend again, and 117 shared that they now plan to visit the market regularly.

This community enthusiasm reflects a turning point. The new pavilion has provided more than shelter—it has given farmers, artisans, and small businesses a space that invites investment, participation, and pride. Attendance at the 2025 vendor planning meeting rose by an astounding 280% over the previous year, illustrating how the upgraded facility is reigniting interest among producers.
