LaRue County 4-H Scholarships

Author: Misty Wilmoth

Planning Unit: LaRue County CES

Major Program: Leadership

Plan of Work: 4-H Leadership

Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

The LaRue County 4-H Council offers an annual scholarship to a local graduating high school senior in the amount of $500.  In 2025, the passing of a 4-H supporter and past volunteer provided the opportunity for individuals to contribute in memory of the individual.  The family members asked for donations to be made to LaRue County 4-H for the purpose of a scholarship.  Donations made it possible to offer the scholarship to five graduating seniors instead of the usual one per year.  This year's graduating class had a significant number of active 4-H members.  The donations made it possible to help a total of five students with educational expenses for college.  Three of the students will be attending universities and two will be attending community college.  The scholarship was an excellent way to remember the volunteer who passed while helping deserving members achieve their educational goals.
