Tools You can Use and How to Care for Them.
Growing Blueberries
Growing Onions and Leeks
Growing Potatoes
Rain Garden Workshop
Season Long Methods to Improve Your Garden Soil and Make it Retain Moisture
Simple Irrigation Systems
Simple Seed Starting at Home
Straw Bale Vegetable Gardening
703 residents attended one or more of our class series. 6 of the classes were repeated two or more times at the request of our clientele and offered during the day and evening to provide access to all.
The Growing Potatoes and Growing Onions and Leeks classes were offered due to a recommendation from the Horticulture Council. They wanted not only to learn how to grow these vegetables but also wanted us to provide the recommended varieties discussed in class. Plants and seed potatoes were purchased at wholesale cost and participants were charged the amount necessary for the Extension Service to break even. Both of these classes had waiting lists.
Evaluations were done for every class. We received good to excellent on average for every offering and had positive
comments and recommendations. The true evaluation is the participants success with production. Surveys will be sent. We encourage all to send picture and contact us with issues.
