Plan of Work: Leaders Address Community Needs
Outcome: Initial Outcome
The Trigg County Ag Appreciation Dinner sponsored by the Trigg County Cooperative Extension Service and The Trigg County Ag Committee proved to be an evening of celebration, inspiration, and generosity, drawing a full house of community members who gathered to honor local agriculture and those who support it.
The highlight of the evening was keynote speaker Greg Peterson, widely known as “Machinery Pete.” With his signature mix of humor, wisdom, and experience, Peterson shared insights into the agricultural equipment market and emphasized the importance of young people getting involved in agriculture. His message resonated deeply with the audience, particularly the next generation of farmers, business owners, and ag advocates.
One of the most anticipated parts of the evening was the recognition of those making a difference in local agriculture. The Ag Business of the Year and Friend of Agriculture awards were jointly presented to Farm Credit Mid America and Agri-Power, acknowledging their continued partnership and unwavering support for the Trigg County ag community.
In a moving moment of generosity, the Trigg County Ag Committee presented a $5000.00 Donation to Helping Hands of Trigg County on behalf of the entire agriculture community. This contribution reflects the deep-rooted commitment of local farmers and ag businesses to giving back and supporting neighbors in need.
The Trigg County Ag Appreciation Dinner once again served as a powerful reminder of the strength, unity, and heart of agriculture in our region. From seasoned producers to young aspiring ag leaders, the evening was a testament to the enduring values that keep rural Kentucky thriving. The Trigg County Extension Service created this evening back in 2009 and it has been a focal point of the local community ever since.
