Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
A local farm wanted to have some of their workers trained in pesticide application. The farm business manager contacted ANR Agent Dee Heimgartner about providing private pesticide applicator training to the workers. The two decided it would be easier for the agent to do the training at the farm. The agent was able to train 15 workers on pesticide safety, personal protective equipment, sprayer calibrations and proper cleaning of spray equipment. The farm manager stated that it was so much easier to do the training at the shop instead of paying for multiple vehicles to drive the almost 30 minutes to the Crittenden County Extension Office. This saved the farm travel money. The farm productivity was also increased because the trainees went right to work after the training and didn't have travel time which would have been 15 hours worth of paid time for the farm.
