Plan of Work: Healthy life style choices make for a happy, healthy life

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Describe the Issue or Situation.

Farm & Family Night is held at Maysville Community & Technology College.  It is a fun filled evening and turned into a great experience for the folks who stepped through the door of Wrapping in Style/Turkey Wraps, a Plan.Eat.Move Recipe.

Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).

Our class was magnetic in outreach, especially those who had attended our classes in the past.  The attendees in this class were excited to learn a creative way of serving a hand-sized wrap where all you need is created in a single "wrap".

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.

Our class consisted of 26 adults (1 W male, 25 W females) and 2 children between the ages or 9 & 11.

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.

100% of participants expressed an increase in knowledge and skill by preparing a wrap and allowing their minds to race as to the different ways to prepare the wrap and ingredients they could use to keep a healthy balance of protein and vegetables. We discussed how these wraps could easily be converted to be breakfast wraps. 100% of the class participants said they were going to start preparing/eating more (healthy) wraps and leave the breads aside. One of the questions we discussed with the audience was being selective with the wraps, watching ingredients in order to make healthy choices. Children and adults will readily adapt to choosing/arranging healthy foods to create a wonderful wrap.
