Major Program: Kentucky Extension Homemaker Association
Plan of Work: Leadership Enhancement and Community Development
Outcome: Initial Outcome
The Bath County extension agent for Family and Consumer Sciences, partnered with the Bath County Homemakers and Bath County Master Clothing Volunteers, to make an impact for military families by donating homemade pillowcases to Military Missions Operation Pillowcase Program.
The Bath County Homemakers and Master Clothing Volunteers came together at the Bath County extension office, two days in the month of October 2024 to make a difference in the lives of deployed military troops. They came prepared with sewing machines, fabric, and willingness to help. They were able to showcase their talent but also show the importance of community volunteers.
The group was able to make 125 pillowcases, that were then donated to Military Missions in Lexington, KY. The impact of this project extends beyond the group working together to accomplish the pillowcases but will also give our troops a sense of home while they selflessly protect our freedom.
