Adulting Class: Life Skills in Butler County

Publicity about students being unprepared for the real world of, "Adulting," the Butler county 4-H Council decided to address the issue. Greg Drake our Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent assisted.

What is credit, good credit vs. bad credit, how to plan a budget, What to know when taking a car loan, to cooking basic meals, changing a tire and check fluids, . What is insurance? Interview skills were also addressed.
The 6 evenings of the program were broken to Leadership, interview skills, who does what in our community organizations, what is the chamber of commerce? How to change a tire, check fluids, what is oil and why is it important?, How to buy a used car? Credit Score, Online Banking, Financial planning, Taxes, Income, Property etc., How to take a loan, what is auto leasing, How to apply for a job what are bank fees, what is a credit rating, how to make yours better, how does credit rating effect loans, insurance, home owners, liability, renters, car liability collision etc. Budgeting, planning income and expenses.

All said they could change a tire and planned to have a spare, some basic safety gear, and a flashlight.

100% of participants rated their soft skills knowledge for the work place to be higher after hearing Center Point Business Solutions speaker 

90% felt prepared to purchase the insurance necessary for their situation.
