Planning Unit: Clinton County CES

Major Program: Civic Engagement

Plan of Work: Leadership Development, Community Planning, Development & Marketing

Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

Community Partnership for a Healthier Lifestyle

The collaboration between the thirty active members of the 4-H High School Adventure Club members and English 101 student, Aubrie Messer, has exemplified the power of community involvement and service, significantly enhancing the local Mountain View Park in Albany. This partnership of a community service project resulted in the creation of ten interactive physical activities designed for families to enjoy on the park's walking path.  These activities not only encourage physical well-being but also promote family bonding and community engagement.

Encouraging Family and Community Engagement

Within the past several months, residents and visitors of all ages have shared testimonies and photos of exploring the newly added activities at Mountain View Park.  Educators and community volunteers are engaging their students to interact with the project to promote physical and mental wellness.

Acknowledging Community Support

The success of this project was also made possible by the generous support of Albany Plumbing and Electric, along with Albany Building Supply, who donated the paint and brushes needed for the activities. Their contributions underscore the strength of community partnerships and the positive impact local businesses can have on community initiatives.

Mentoring Future Leaders

These teen leaders have set an inspiring example of how dedication and teamwork can create lasting benefits for the community, encouraging others to partake in similar initiatives that enhance communal spaces and foster a sense of togetherness. These visionary young leaders understand the importance of giving back to their community. Through their efforts, they are making a significant impact that will make our county a better place to live for future generations.
