Planning Unit: Graves County CES

Major Program: Leadership

Plan of Work: Unrelated to a specified County Plan of Work

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Describe the Issue or Situation. There has been a growth in Graves County 4-H over the last few years. from 2024 to 2025, there are currently 8 community clubs (previously 5 community clubs). There are many opportunities that 4-H'ers have now such as Teen Conference, 4-H Camp, Capitol Experience and more. We want our 4-H'ers to get as many progressive experiences as possible throughout their time in 4-H, and fundraising money to help pay for those experiences is one way we can help.

Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable). Many different businesses within Graves County. We also partnered with River Valley Ag Credit to help sponsor the breakfast portion. At the fundraiser, families were able to pay $10 to take a picture with Santa, pet cows, make crafts, eat pancakes, and more. There was also a silent auction. We had multiple volunteers help with registration and the cooking. The teen club also helped with crafts. 10 businesses and 4 different members of the community donated to the silent auction.

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience. 126 people attended (45 males, 66 females). 15 were volunteers (7 male, 8 female).

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.

The community of Graves County helped the 4-H program raise over $2,000 with this event. Each club will be receiving around $215 and the program's camp fund is receiving around $200. Members of the teen club learned multiple leadership skills such as working as a team, working as volunteers, and communicating with the public.
