Oppurtunites for youth to grow, build skills, and develop qualities such as leadership skills are not as prevalent as they were 10 years ago. With that being said it has been a goal of the Lincoln 4-H Program, under the guidance of the 4-H Youth Development Agent to provide these opportunities.
Lincoln County 4-H offers many events, clubs, and trips that will help mold teens into leaders.
The Clubs at the county level are as follows: Teen Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Homeschool Club and C3/4 Area Teen Council and serving as helpers in Cloverbuds.
The events are as follows: Fundraising, Area Teen Council, 4-H Teen Summit, Teen Conference, SRTLC, Communications and Demonstration events.
On average, we have anywhere from 3-12 teens who are actively involved.
Recently there were two opportunities to serve the community and raise money for the Lincoln County 4-H Council, first was the 4-H Polar Pancake Breakfast, and vendor fair. Youth helped younger youth with crafts and activities. Next was the Kentucky Farm Bureau- Lincoln County Annual meeting, teen 4-H members prepared, and served the food at this banquet per the request of the local KFB. Both events were great and a successful time making connections within the community.
