Breakfast with Santa

Planning Unit: Fayette County CES
Major Program: Leadership
Plan of Work: Build Engaged and Empowered Communities
Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
When meeting new families for the first time, we always hear about how they wish they knew of our program sooner. Our Breakfast with Santa Event has been a great way to engage new and existing participants in a fun community event. It has also served as a potential fundraiser for our 4-H Council and Clubs. In planning for the program with our 4-H council this year, we invited local entrepreneurs to set up booths to sell during the event. One of our 4-H members had a booth during the program. We also asked a local music group from Fredrick Douglass High School to offer live music while families ate.
Our Teen Leadership and Future Homemakers Clubs gained leadership skills while facilitating the program. The club members helped set up and decorate for the program. During the program, club members cooked and served food and drinks to our participants. Club members also led arts and crafts. Overall, we saw an increase in participation from last year and plan to continue to improve the program for the future. The numbers below represent participants who completed our sign-in sheet before entering the event.
