Outcome: Initial Outcome
As a result of the 2023 Community Needs Assessment conducted by the Cooperative Extension Service, it was determined that both strengthening youth workforce readiness, and youth life skill training were in the top 3 priority issues for the county. As a result, Christian County 4-H and Family and Consumer Sciences partnered to offer trainings focused on effective communications, civil discourse, and proper etiquette.
31 youth from the Christian County Public Schools Gifted and Talented Leadership group participated in in a program tailored to give participants experiential learning opportunities including speeches, debates, and following proper etiquette when setting a table and eating lunch.
Following completion of the program,
100 % of youth surveyed indicated they did gain or strengthen their ability to express their thoughts or opinions;
100 % of youth surveyed indicated they did use information to communicate with others;
100 % of youth surveyed indicated they understand how their actions and opinions can impact others;
100 % of youth surveyed indicated they did learn new skills to prepare or improve their life;
100 % of youth surveyed indicated they did learn new personal skills as a result of participating in an Extension workforce development program/outreach.
