Describe the Issue or Situation.
While the fruit industry has a significant amount of Spanish speaking workers, some with limited to no English language proficiency, little information is currently be provided to this population in their native language.
Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).
We have began working to provide more on farm trainings, primarily around pruning in Spanish. More importantly we are working to provide Spanish language video trainings for fruit workers, as well as real time Spanish language translation at field days
Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.
We have so far provided in person Spanish language trainings either on farm or at field days to 28 Spanish speaking workers in the fruit industry
Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. This program has provided these 28 workers fruit production information in their native language which will allow them to better perform their jobs on Kentucky fruit farms
