Planning Unit: Hart County CES
Major Program: Kentucky Extension Homemaker Association
Plan of Work: Developing Leadership and Volunteerism
Outcome: Initial Outcome
The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association (KEHA) is a volunteer organization that works to improve the quality of life for families and communities through leadership development, volunteer service, and education. Hart County hosted the Mammoth Cave Area Annual Homemaker Meeting in October 2024.
During this time, a food drive was completed for Hart County residents. Each Homemaker was asked to donate a non-perishable food for the community. Munfordville Baptist Church has a food pantry which is open to the public and the food was donated to that outreach program to be distributed to families in need.
The day was attended by over 150 Homemakers and special guests. We had a special guest speaker, Ricky Line, and special entertainment provided by Kendall Ford. The day was a great day. Mr. Line provided an inspirational speech regarding volunteerism and leadership. He discussed how to make a negative situation into a positive outcome.
97% of the attendees stated that enjoyed the meeting and felt it was beneficial to them. Many stated they enjoyed the speaker and felt inspired by him.
