Plan of Work: Livestock & Crops

Outcome: Initial Outcome

On August 13, 2024, the Cumberland County Agriculture Agent hosted a LADDER tabletop exercise. This was the second LADDER tabletop exercise to be hosted in Cumberland County. During LADDER participants were engaged in working through real life scenarios during a disaster. The ANR agent was responsible for recruiting participants for the event, taking notes during the event, and assisting with the After-Action Report at the conclusion of the event. The scenario that was presented to the participants was focused on pets. Participants that were present for the event were the Emergency Manager, Sheriff, Coroner, dispatch, food pantry volunteer, and church pastor and his wife. Since the tabletop concluded, the ANR agent has followed up with the Emergency Manager to rework the ESF-6 plan for Cumberland County and has updated the ESF-11 from the previous LADDER. LADDER is made possible by a USDA NIFA Smith-Lever Grant and the University of Kentucky, Martin Gaton College of Ag, Food and Environment.
