A staple of my Extension program is providing current crop market outlook, price and profitability potential, and analysis of current risk management opportunities. These updates are presented in large Grain Day meetings and in individual county meetings. I focus the analysis for the location’s yield potential and basis. I have received positive feedback from farmers and Extension agents. Clint Hardy, ANR Agent for Daviess County, states, “You are very knowledgeable and well received by farmers in my area. You’re doing a great job in your role as Extension Grain Marketing specialist.” Darrell Simpson, ANR Agent for Muhlenberg County, emailed “Thank you for a very informative and jammed packed presentation at the Muhlenberg County Grain Crops meeting. The market outlook and crop insurance information provided the producers with some very important details for decisions that they will need to make in the next few days and weeks. Thanks again for a great program and all that you do for agents and producers alike.” Todd County farmer Allen Franks states, “Your presentation last evening was excellent. I do not know how many days it took to put all this info together, but it did not ‘just happen.’ Thanks for helping us to market in the top third.” Monty Parrish, Henderson County farmer, emailed, “I wanted to compliment you and thank you for the work you do for us in Kentucky. I knew you would be thorough in your presentation, which is why I brought my landlord along to the Henderson Grain Day. She too was quite impressed with your information.”
