Describe the Issue or Situation.

Recently, the Louisville Area Family and Consumer Science Agents transformed the structure of the Homemaker Leader lessons. Previously, FCS agents traveled to seven counties to deliver these lessons, which members then taught to their clubs. However, declining participation prompted a reevaluation of this approach. The result was the creation of a centralized one-day Homemaker leader lesson seminar. This new format featured four engaging lessons and provided lunch for participants. As a result, attendance more than tripled, resources were utilized more efficiently, and everyone's time was better spent.

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.

County homemaker organizations offer valuable leadership opportunities for members, whether through holding office, teaching lessons, chairing activities, or engaging in various local associations. Most importantly, these organizations cultivate companionship and lifelong friendships among their members.

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or the community because of the program/outreach.

As a result, attendance more than tripled, resources were utilized more efficiently, and everyone's time was better spent. Evaluations revealed that participants particularly enjoyed the camaraderie and the chance to connect with others from the Louisville Area. Many comments echoed a shared appreciation for the learning opportunities and the time spent fellowshipping with fellow homemakers.
