Describe the Issue or Situation.  In Calloway County, a community-driven need led to the creation of a new Homemaker club centered around Shooting Sports. A former shooting sports coach and volunteer, with extensive experience working with both adult and youth programs—including 4-H—approached our Extension office. His request reflected the community's interest in building a club that fosters skill development, safety, and personal growth through shooting sports.

Describe the Outreach or Educational Program Response (and Partners, if applicable).  To address this interest, we organized a meeting to gather citizens of Calloway County who shared a passion for shooting sports. The response was enthusiastic—12 adults attended the inaugural meeting and took part in a range experience. This strong turnout indicated a clear demand for such a club in our community.

Provide the Number and Description(s) of Participants/Target Audience.  The club's formation has already made a significant impact on participants. The focus on personal pride and safety has increased self-confidence and responsibility among members. Through ongoing education and practice, participants are developing not only technical shooting skills but also becoming well-rounded individuals capable of handling challenges with precision and care.

Provide a Statement of Outcomes or Program Impact. Please note that the outcomes statement must use evaluation data to describe the change(s) that occurred in individuals, groups, families, businesses, or in the community because of the program/outreach.

The club's formation has already made a significant impact on participants. The 12 initial members, along with the 3 who will soon join, range from those with prior shooting experience to beginners looking to develop their skills. The Calloway County Shooting Sports Homemaker Club stands as a testament to how community engagement can lead to new opportunities for personal development and enjoyment.  This club provides a safe and supportive environment for citizens to learn, grow, and take pride in their achievements, while building strong connections within our community.
