After School Cooking Club

West Broadway Elementary School along with the Nutrition Education Program Assistant implemented an after-school program to boost students' fruit and vegetable consumption. The program included cooking classes, interactive nutrition lessons, and taste-testing sessions.

 The students increased their knowledge of fruits and vegetables and healthier eating in general by 80%. By choosing fruits and vegetables for snacks. 

The positive feedback from parents stated, “My child is now eager to help with meal prep and try new veggies,” and another adding, “The program has really changed our family’s eating habits for the better.”

The after-school program successfully engaged students in healthy eating and positively impacted their families.
