Monroe County 4-H teens attend Teen Conference

As many communities are experiencing a decline in teen leaders, Monroe County is an exception to that.   Monroe County teens have been very excited about 2024 Teen Conference since that got home in 2023.  They have worked hard to develop their leadership skills and bring more and more teens to the 100^th Kentucky Teen Conference.   

Monroe County was thrilled to have 2 youth receiving their gold honors, 2 receiving silver, and 1 receiving bronze.  These youth have worked very hard to make this possible.  Through their leadership, they also created excitement for this year’s Teen Conference.  

Monroe County is also fortunate to have 2 State Teen Council Delegates.  These delegates have provided leadership for the other teens in Monroe County and helped them understand the 2024 Teen Conference.  From the day registration opened until the day it closed, teens flooded the extension office registering.  

Throughout the conference, Monroe County teens took on many responsibilities.  They helped lead teens who had not previously attended.  Also, these teens helped the agent throughout the week.   They accepted great responsibility and took pride in their efforts.  

Monroe County teens were so excited during the closing session as they were named the county with the largest delegation.  Monroe County had a delegation of 23 delegates.  The pride these teens felt was obvious.  As we returned, all the teens indicated they want to attend Teen Conference in 2025.  The 2 delegates who have just graduated indicated they wanted to go back next year as adult leaders.
