The Floyd County Cooperative Extension Service and Family & Consumer Sciences Advisory Council implemented Truth & Consequences: The Choice is Yours, a scenario based role-play activity designed to help students learn more about the physical, legal, financial, and emotional consequences of substance abuse, for 357 Floyd County freshman students. 23  community partners and adult volunteers participated in the event. 

Students rotated between one to three different stations. The stations included the Truth & Consequences actual program and four mini-speaker sessions. The mini-speaker sessions included real life experiences with vaping and affects of drugs on the body.

Based off surveys completed 96-100% of students claimed to develop a better understanding of the legal, health, emotional, financial, harm and risk, a consequences of substance abuse and knew who they would be able to reach out to in the community for recovery help if they developed a substance use disorder.
