It had been 10 years since Menifee County 4-H offered an in-person 4-H Reality Store! Recognizing the importance of financial literacy, the Menifee County High School partnered with Menifee County 4-H Youth Development Program to bring the innovative 4-H Reality Store experience to their sophomore students. The 4-H Reality Store is an interactive financial simulation designed to teach young people about budgeting, financial decision-making, and the realities of adult life. The participants/target audience were Menifee County High School Sophomore class. In the spring semester April 2024, all 75 sophomore students at Menifee County High School participated in the 4-H Reality Store. The program was set up in the school gymnasium, transformed into a bustling "reality store" with different stations representing various financial obligations and life choices. A total of 13 community partners, 75 sophomore students, 15 school staff, and Menifee County FCS/4-H Agent participated in 4-H Reality Store. Over 90% of the sophomore class of Menifee County High School said this program helped them improve their view of adult life and has improved some level of their financial literacy. 100% of students said they would like to see this program come back every year.
