The problem There are many needs within our communities in Kentucky. The 80 Extension Homemaker members in Rockcastle County are always willing to assist with worthy projects -- using their talents and time to benefit others.
The educational program response During the state Homemaker meeting members were challenged to keep track of their volunteer time throughout the year. The county president and FCS agent asked members to track their hours for more complete numbers by the state organization.

Program impact or participant response. 8 Homemaker members have reported their volunteer hours for the year.
The eight members reported a total of 2452 hours of volunteer time. They spent 333 hours of time with Extension Service projects; 184 hours on KEHA projects; 725 hours on community projects and 1210 personal hours volunteering (helping others without pay). As more of our county Homemakers begin to track their time, volunteer hours reported with increase tremendously.
