Today more and more people are getting their information online. This is especially the case with small and backyard chicken owners. To help provide relevant, science-based, up to date information to this community the eXtension Community of Practice for small and backyard flocks holds monthly webinars. The webinars held this year include:

·        Proper handling and washing of eggs from small and backyard flocks

·        Choosing and using disinfectants with your small and backyard flocks

·        Essential oils: What are they and why would you want to use them with poultry?

·        Ventilation and insulation for backyard poultry flocks

·        Poultry integrated management with flies, birds and rodents

·        4-H Poultry showmanship

·        Environmental enrichments for small and backyard flocks

·        Nutrition for small and backyard flocks

·        Poultry production over the decades

·        Poultry behavior and how to ‘read’ a flock

The webinars are all recorded and available within a day or two of the event. The webinars are uploaded to a YouTube channel and can be accessed through YouTube or through the eXtension Learn website. The recordings for these webinars, as well as the ones from previous years, get many views online. We have 695 people subscribed to our YouTube channel.
