Weekly Zoom meeting "In the Weeds with IPM keeps agents in the know in 2023"

The 60 minute, bi-weekly In the Weeds with IPM Zoom calls held during the growing season between Agriculture and Natural Resource Agents and Extension Specialists continued to build on participation in 2023-2024, while providing a platform for Agents and Specialists to share vital information regarding Pest Management topics in both agronomic and forage cropping systems. The Zoom calls also provide a platform for specialists to inform ANR agents of potential upcoming or emerging pest issues.

From July 2023 to the end of August 2023, 143 individuals participated in the calls. When the Zoom calls. At the conclusion of the 2023 growing season, agents completed a survey on the importance of the bi-weekly Zoom calls, with 85 percent strongly agreeing that the information from the calls was beneficial to their role as a county agent. One hundred percent of the agents surveyed indicated they shared information learned on the Zoom calls with others.

Comments from agents indicated the Zoom calls are informative and beneficial. Respondents described the calls as educational and helped keep them aware of matters occurring across the state. They also said the calls were a great chance to keep current on timely situations.

The Zoom calls will continue into September 2024 and look to increase viewership among agents in the coming growing seasons, as agent schedules allow for participation.
