Motivated All Day Everyday (MADE) is a Gang Violence Prevention Program Sponsored by the Urban League in Lexington, Kentucky.  During the 2017-18 academic school year MADE partnered with the Fayette County Public School System to provide activities to over 150 youth consistently throughout the year.  Quincy Murdock and Logan Averitt provided leadership for this initiative housed in eight schools which hosted weekly groups averaging 8 to 20 youth from both middle and high schools.  Their prevention efforts work on developing  young minds to persevere in spite of their past experiences with violence and provide opportunities.  Although MADE Serves mostly young African American and Latino males, the first female group was started this year to address the need.  MADE is instrumental in working with the school system to provide strategies for dealing with violence, bullying, and academic success.  Mentorship is key to working with these young men and women who have experienced insurmountable challenges already in their lives.  However, MADE continues to make a difference with them and their community.  Such successes include (4) graduates with three having full athletic scholarships and the other enlisted to serve in the army.  Kentucky State University Cooperative Extension program collaborates and supports the efforts of Mr. Murdock and Mr. Averitt to provide positive sustainable activities to prevent the cycle of violence.
